The Victorians loved to dress up in their finery for a special occasion and here you can see a collection of costumes and accessories from the late 1900s.
This room also features another Victorian passion – taxidermy. We have a fine collection of birds from Britain and around the world that showcase the skill and artistry of the taxidermist – look out for the Albatross.
‘Holidays in Ilfracombe’ – Inspired by the many happy holidays taken in our seaside town an exhibition of costume, cameras, albums and souvenirs from the late 1900s to the 1980s taken from our own archives.
Why not try your hand at brass rubbing – Kids & people of all ages can enjoy making one from over thirty designs.
